View volumes

A storage volume is an identifiable unit of data storage. Storage groups are sets of volumes.

See below for procedure to view volumes from the Hosts > Mainframe dashboard. To see the CKD volumes in a CU image, see View CKD volumes in CU image.

Steps

  1. Select the storage system.
  2. Select Hosts > Mainframe and click Volumes in the Summary panel.
    The Volumes list view is displayed. Use this list view to view and manage the volumes.
    The following properties display: however, not all properties may be available for every volume type:
    • Name—Assigned volume name.
    • Type—Type of volume.
    • Allocated %—% of the volume that is allocated.
    • Capacity (CYL)—Volume capacity in cylinders.
    • Status—Volume status.
    • Emulation—Emulation type for the volume.
    • Host Paths—Number of masking records for the volume.
    • Reserved—Indicates whether the volume is reserved.
    • Split—The name of the associated split.
    • CU Image —The number of the associated CU image.
    • Base Address—Base Address.
